01THE BASICS

A wallet that puts
you in charge.

A hardware wallet is a small, dedicated device that helps keep the secret keys to your crypto offline. Your coins remain on their respective blockchains; your Trezor stores the keys that let you manage them. When you approve an action, the important details appear on the device so you can review them before confirming.

Trezor Suite is the companion app you use to view balances, manage supported assets, and prepare transactions. The device and app work together: Suite shows you what is happening, while your Trezor keeps sensitive operations under your control. That extra separation helps reduce exposure to malware on a computer or phone.

Self-custody also means you are responsible for access. There is no company that can reset your recovery backup for you. Take a few unhurried minutes to set up safely now, and keep the recovery instructions below somewhere you can find them later.

AKeys stay private

Your recovery words belong to you—not an app, website, or support agent.

BVerify on device

Read transaction details on the Trezor screen before you approve anything.

CMove at your pace

There is no rush. Pause and double-check whenever something feels unusual.

02YOUR SETUP

Five steps to
a safer start.

Keep your device, its supplied cable, and a pen and paper nearby. Select your model below to keep a simple progress checklist as you set up.

YOUR PERSONAL STARTER

Let’s get your wallet ready.

Choose your device, then use this checklist as you go. Your progress stays on this page only.

A checklist is a reminder, not a substitute for verifying each instruction on your Trezor’s screen.

03CREATE YOUR WALLET
01CONNECT WITH CONFIDENCE

Start with the official source.

Visit trezor.io/trezor-suite by typing the address yourself or using a trusted bookmark. Download Trezor Suite for your computer, or choose the official web app when available. Avoid sponsored search results, unsolicited direct messages, and links sent by strangers. A convincing imitation can still be a scam.

Open Suite and connect your Trezor using the cable that came with it. Follow the instructions in the app and on the device screen. If prompted to install or update firmware, proceed only through the official Suite flow. Check that the prompts make sense for a new device; if anything looks unexpected, disconnect and consult the official Trezor support site before continuing.

Choose the option to create a new wallet if this is your first setup. Your device will guide you through initializing it. Set a PIN when asked, using a code that is difficult for others to guess but that you can reliably remember. Never share your PIN with anyone. The exact screen sequence can differ between Trezor models and software versions, so follow what your device displays rather than a screenshot from another person.

✦

First rule: A brand-new device should not arrive with a recovery phrase already written down. If anyone gave you words in advance, do not use them. Contact official support using the address you enter yourself.

04THE MOST IMPORTANT PART
YOUR BACKUP IS YOUR ACCESS

Write it down.
Keep it private.

During setup, your Trezor will generate a recovery backup—usually a list of words shown on the device. These words can restore access to the wallet if the device is lost, damaged, or replaced. Treat them with the same care as the assets they protect.

Write each word on the supplied recovery card or another durable paper backup, in exactly the order shown. Check spelling and numbering as you go. Keep the words offline in a private, secure place that is protected from casual access and physical damage. Consider whether a trusted person should know where the backup is kept, without giving them the words themselves.

Your Trezor may ask you to verify the backup by selecting words in order. Take that check seriously; a missed word or changed sequence could prevent recovery later. If your model offers an optional backup type, understand the extra responsibility before choosing it. For additional copies or long-term storage, consult official Trezor guidance and make sure you understand the risks of each method.

05READY WHEN YOU ARE
TAKE A MOMENT BEFORE YOU SEND

Your first transaction,
with confidence.

After setup, open Trezor Suite to explore the assets and network options supported by your device and current software. Availability can change, and different networks may use similar-looking addresses while remaining incompatible. Confirm the asset and network with the recipient before moving funds.

For a deposit, select the relevant account and use the receive flow shown in Suite. Check the address on both your computer and your Trezor screen. They should match exactly. Share only the receiving address, which is designed to receive funds; never share your recovery words or PIN. If someone provides an address for you, verify it with them through a separate trusted channel.

For a withdrawal, begin with a small test amount when practical. Carefully review the full destination address, network, and amount on your Trezor’s display—not just in the app. Only approve after everything matches what you intended. Transactions on a blockchain are generally difficult or impossible to reverse, so pausing to verify is worthwhile. Network fees and confirmation times vary; check the details Suite presents before confirming.

06STAY SAFE FOR THE LONG RUN

Security is a habit,
not a one-time step.

Keep these simple checks close whenever you use your wallet. Real support will never ask you to hand over the keys to your funds.

01 / SOURCE

Use official channels.

Type trezor.io yourself to find software, updates, and help. Be wary of urgent messages, giveaway offers, and cloned support accounts.

02 / SCREEN

Trust what you verify.

Confirm the address and transaction details on your physical device every time. A computer display alone is not enough.

03 / BACKUP

Protect your recovery words.

Keep the backup private, offline, and readable. Do not share it with friends, support staff, or any website.

04 / PAUSE

Slow down under pressure.

Unexpected instructions and countdowns are warning signs. Disconnect, take a breath, then seek help through official channels.
